Just plain tangent x has a period of pi. It takes x going from 0 to 2pi in order for x/2 to go from 0 to pi. Therefore the period of tan (x/2) is 2pi.

the period of y = [tan (x) ] /2.....

y= (1/2) tan x has period of π
and you would graph it at -π/2 (asymptote)
