Do you know the formula for the area of a circle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's the first thing you need. The formula is \[A=(\pi)r ^{2}\] The diameter is 20cm, so what's the length of the radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know what a radius is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the radius of a circle or sphere is the length of a line segment from its center to its perimeter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you just copy/paste that? or do you really know it? If the diameter is 20cm, then the radius is...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

copy and paste

Well, until you know the basics of geometry, you'll never be able to work a problem like this one. Maybe someone will jump on here and give you the answer, since I suspect that's all you really want.
