simply put \(\sqrt{-1} = i\) find the sqrt for 121 separately

It's just the sqrt of 121 multiplied by i. since i = √-1

Find the highest factor of 48 that can be squared... √ 48 = √ 16 times √3

So what is √48 then?.. you figure the square root first then multiply it by i , basically.
