What was the basis of the South’s economy after the Civil War?

The south depended on slavery for plantations and when the civil war ended slavery begin to decline in some areas. Thus, people had less work done on plantations so they had to end it. Plantations and agriculture was dependable on the South but in the North, it had an industrial economy.
