Title: Monomers and Polymers. It was observed that when bread dough is left for a while, it rises. However, if the temperature is increased a little, the time taken for it to rise is shorter and a bread company can make more bread in a given time. Plan and design an activity to investigate this theory. a) State the method you will use. b) Determine the independent, dependent and responding variables. c) What is the expected results? Thanks!

Okay. Well it is confirmed that when the temperature increases the time for the bread to rise is shortened. From this it is adjacent to make a quantitative analysis of this phenomena. In quantitative analysis we only check how 1 variable affect another and don't care about others. In this case how the temperature affect the volume of the bread (expansion of bread) after a time \(t\). With me so far?

Now using this method try name the independent, dependent variable. Along with that try suggest some other variables that may affect our experiment.

I came in doubt about what we can say about method. I more said we did a quantitative analysis.

since were not investigating the basis for the phenomena, and just the outcome, we don't need a real-time approach. So i'd say vary the temperature, keep the time constant and measure the height of the bread on identically prepared samples.

But still what would the method for this be called? I hate to write about method. You know more about experimental work than I. \(\huge \color{red}{\sf Assume ~ you've ~ never ~heard ~of }\) \(\huge \color{red}{\sf pyruvate~ decarboxylase!}\)

umm they're asking for the procedure of how to go about it, not what the method would be called :P though i would say it's a "volumetric analysis"..given that the container impedes the bread from expanding sideways (so it only expands in 1 dimension, height).

sorry i had a power outage.....my teacher gave me some variables: 1) manipulated (temperature), and Control (composition of the bread dough, mass of dough). She did not give responding though
