what is the square of a natural number?

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Square we know means the sides are equal. So let's take the area. If we have the length as 5, what will be to width? Since we know that every side is equal, the width is 5. The area becomes 25. What I am trying to say from this is that when you square a natural number, you're multiplying the number itself. And when finding the square root of 25, we know that it is 5.
