Questions? I'll try my best!
If I was Paralyzed from the waist down but was able to move around using my arms going at a constant 1 mile an hour, and 200 feet per minute, how long would it take me to get to my friend who's walking 1 mile an hour, but only 100 feet per minute? With that in mind, I fall over once due to some wind which keeps me from moving for 5 minutes. My friend is currently 10 minutes a head of me. What distance will I have to travel to reach her? I totally made this question on the spot. Bare with me if it's hard to understand. I have like so much energy right now. I've been doing work for a soldid 18 hours now.
Solid*
So your by dragging your self move twice as fast then your friend by foot. he is 10 minutes ahead. Your moving 200ft per minute She is moving 100ft per minute 10 minutes ahead, do you mean 10 minutes of her mivement ahead or 10 minutes of your mivement ahead?
She is ahead of me by 10 minutes. 15 if you include the fact that I was knocked over.
Marcia earns $1.25 more per hour than Julie. Marcia travels in a car that averages 27 miles per gallon. If Marcia earns an extra $.75 per hour, when will the bus get to Philadelphia?
10 minutes of her movement ahead that means that in 2000 ft you will catch up to her. 10 minutes ahead of your movement, that means 3000ft. If 5 minutesknocked are included in these 10 minutes already.
Wolf, the starting point isn't given. The variables don't correlate either.
You question is really abstruse! (the way you set it up I mean)
It's set to where you can't actually solve it. Anyone could figure that out. :P
If I exactly understood the conditions in the question....
Being that 3 of the statements he made don't really correlate I'd say it's not an actual question. More so a fake paradox.
Are the 5 minutes he was knocked included in the 10 minutes that she is ahead or not? 10 minutes ahead, is that measure by how he or by how she moves?
It's not included in the 10 minutes, want me to add another variable?
How do you know that from the initial question? if that is from a textbook, then textbooks like these should be used more productively, for a fire, heating, recycling whatever....
i still don't get the following, 10 minutes ahead, is that measured by how he or by how she moves?
10 minutes of her movement ahead that means that in 2000 ft you will catch up to her. 10 minutes ahead of your movement, that means 3000ft. If 5 minutes he was knocked are included in these 10 minutes already.
As I said b/f.
Let me rephrase this. She is currently 10 minutes ahead of him (me). To where she stands in 1 mile away.
10 minutes ahead , what does that mean?, 10 minutes of movement. Of whose movement?????
Forget that she's 10 minutes ahead but that she's half a mile ahead.
I wish someone can tell me what the question is asking and how is that implied or known from the way it is asked initially, it is one of the mist ambiguous questions I've ever seen....
Wolf's or mine?
your's
To be honest ... I just thought this was a setup for people to ask ridiculous questions. I thought xjakester's question wasn't serious. Sorry.
Sorry to say that, but... don't you see that yourself?
Solomon, let me restart the question from the start once more.
OK!
Please just list couple facts and ask what is_____. if you can! Please!!!!!!
@wolf1728, I understand you...
:: Quietly exiting to figure the last digit of pi. (I have it narrowed down to 10 possibilities). ::
@wolf1728, is that a question to me?
no - it's a question to nobody - think I'll just exit. See ya :-)

I fall over when 10 minutes have past leaving me not capable of movement for 5 minutes How long will it take for me to reach her? .

Wow - so it ends with 286? Thanks !!
1 mile!
B/c you're moving twice as fast (200ft per minute)
I still don't understand what does it mean to that both move 1 mile per hour and one moves 100ft per minute and the other twice as much? How is that even possible?
This question is an absurd, I really feel bad, but tell your teacher that this question doesn't make sense (even now, and esp. the way it was asked initially)
There's actually a competition that people attend where they see if they can calculate what next digit comes next. The prize is either $1,000.00 USDA, and or $100,000 USDA. I can't recollect. For your question I think I need to have a certain about of time equal to his ability to walk. So basically actually remove the 1 mile per our, but add that he can move 200 feet per minute.
Don't you see that it is impossible that two people move the same speed of 1 mile per hour, but yet, at the same time move differently foot-wise!!!!!!!!!!
Do you see my point?
Where the girl is able to only walk 100 feet per minute, but now she's ahead of you by 2,640 feet. She stops every 2 minutes to drink water. Where the guy who reaches a total of 1,320 feet falls every 1/4th of a mile for 5 minutes.
Now it should make sense.
Now it does! This is a different question though, tnx for asking...!
If it still doesn't make sense I shall it all together.
How much does she stop for?
She stops for 2 minutes every 1,320 feet to drink water.
I see!
within 1320 feet she stops 13 times and each time for 2 minutes, do you see why?
Lets get their movements including stops, down, OK?
Recalling... Where the girl is able to only walk 100 feet per minute, but now she's ahead of you by 2,640 feet. She stops every 2 minutes to drink water. Where the guy who reaches a total of 1,320 feet falls every 1/4th of a mile for 5 minutes.
(She stops for 2 minutes every 1,320 feet to drink water.)
I am paralyzed and I am going to go on a walk with a friend. My friend is currently 5,280 feet ahead of me, she stops to drink water every 2,640 feet for 2 minutes. I am able to move 200 feet per minute. She is able to move 100 feet per minute. I fall over every 1,320 feet for 2 minutes. How long will it take for me to catch up to her?
I made the question in a different place, just copy and pate what you have no and continue if you'd like.
I massed up! Sorry ...hold on
1) She moves 2640 ft per 28 minutes
2) I move 2640 ft per 17 minutes
@xjakester, so far so good?
3) I gain 2200 feet every 28 minutes, OK?
Yes, it is I'll double check though.
Do u c?
Do u see how I'm getting these numbers?
I need to catch up 5,280 feet. In 56 minute I'll catch up, up to 4400 feet.
sow after 56 minutes I need 880 feet, note that no one is stopping for 880 feet! (So in 56+16, or 72, minutes I'll be 80ft behind) need 80 more ft. so when I move 80 more feet after all of that, I'll catch up.
So 100 feet per minute, t/f 80 ft in 48 sec 56min+16min+48 sec Answer: 1 hour, 12 minutes and 48 seconds.
@xjakester
scalar matrix nah jk
Who me?
I just showed how I was thinking.
@UsukiDoll, do you agree with my work?
word problems blah not good with them
me niether, u can see that I tried my best! Do you think my answer is correct?
ASK!
Questions?
o rly? Here's one Show that any set of functions containing the function identically zero is linearly dependent.
That's not a question, ism't it? anyway..... guys, need help?
UsukiDoll, what do you think about my work?
no it is a question...a proof if you ask me
You asked that b/f, no? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/525910d6e4b002bdb08f606e
yeah hey what the?!!!! spied on my stuff D:
My major is comp... tech..
EZ!!
I will either be doing Law, or Graphics design. I'm excellent with computers.
Nice to hear that! I want to do something that involves comp and banking, like discovering the money-transferring operations that are against the US law, online detective (or whatever it is) may be hacking.
@xjakester, are you cool w/ my answer?
Ah, you want to do wire-transfers, and you must use bitcoins, do you not? :P I am pleased with the attempt, I'm going to look over it later.I hope this doesn't get deleted. Haha.
What doesn't get deleted, the reply?
You think I must be embarrassed b/c this reply?
No, I hope a moderator doesn't delete the post, because they tend to do that.
Why?
This is a helpful "questions" thingy I use to help other ppl.
yeah but you mentioned the word "hacking"
Haha, don't be fooled a hacker is not a hacker if he lets people know he hacks. It's a paradox in a sense.
