OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

I m der ryaan...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I neeeeeeeeed heeeeeeeeeelp Ma'am! I don't know when do you get online :c

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Hi ryaan...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I post the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean, if you're free then I'll post my question..

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Yes I hv some time...post ur ques...

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Is it a biggg ques?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In garden pea, tall stem (T) is dominant over dwarf stem (t), round seed (R) is dominant over wrinkled seed (r): Yellow cotylrdons (Y) is dominant over green cotyledons(y) inflated pods (S) dominant over constricted pods (s). green pods (G) dominant over yellow pods (g) and axial flowers (A) is dominant over terminal flower (a). I have to find out phenotypic ratio of each cross. a) TtRr X Ttrr b)TTrr X TrRr c)ttRr X Ttrr d)Ttrr X TtRr e)YySs X Yyss f)Yyss X YySs g)yySs X Yyss h)Yyss X YySs i)GgRr X Ggrr j)GGrr X Ggrr k)AaTt X aatt l) GgYy X Ggyy That's all given to me , but I don't know how to solve this problem.:( Would you help me to understand that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b) TTrr X TtRr**

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

Sure...I will help u with 1 I m sure u wud b able 2 do d rest... lets take d 1st one...show me d punnet square

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How to make punnet square for this ?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

TtRrxTtrr. take TtRr...u know how to make gametes of this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope :I

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1381752705753:dw| Like this? :/

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

no no...umm is this very urgent ryaan?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

actually i am having issues using OS on my fone...is it ok if u expain this to u in detail tomo? really srry..i have my exam going on..its gonna end tomo then i have all d free time tomo...

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

really srry..:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, not very urgent! It's okay ,you can explain it tommorow!

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

thank u...srry again..:(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@shrutipande9

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

ok lets start den....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I make a punnet square ? Would you solve the 1st one,so I'll understand :/ may be

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

sure...first we need to make gametes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do we make gametes?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see now u have 2 traits t and r rite? both coding for 2 different phenotypes?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

lets consider 1st eg for now...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

cool....now to make gametes we need 2 have 1 t and 1 r....whether capital or small...

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

for eg ill show u 1...lets take this TtRr the gametes of this would be-TR Tr tR tr...

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

u need to make combinations in such a way that u have 1 t and 1 r in the gamete...either dminant or recessive depending on the alleles present in parent genotype

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

u wid me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

cool...now can u tell me d gametes of other parent Ttrr?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't get this :c how to make gametes :I

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

ok..lets do it again...see d genotype of parent is Ttrr rite? now i need 2 make gametes. gametes in this case are made up of 2 letters...ok? one should be t and other r either capital or small...can u mak combinations for me using T,t,r,r only? remember u cannot write 2 t's or r's together...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tr,tr,tR,TR? :I

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

u r rite about the 1st parent...TtRr..for this these are perfectly correct...

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

now take a look at Ttrr...in this we do not have R...rite? we only have t,T,r,r so make gametes using only these letters...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can I combine capital T with small t?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

nope....no same letters together...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tr,tr,Tr,tr?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

correct.....:D so it comes down to 2 gametes rite? Tr and tr...

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

it is not compulsory that u should get 4 gametes....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Owww I get it now..:3

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

so now write down d gametes of both the parents for me.... TtRr- Ttrr-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tr,TR,tr,tR

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For Ttrr=Tr, tr

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

cool...u got it:D now clear on how to make d gametes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I think!

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

cool...now lets make d punnet square....this is how u do it

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):
