I need help defining a few words, High Yield Crops World Bank Tubewells Rationale Modified(seeds) Here is what I think: High Yield Crops-crops which produce more food Modified Seeds-genetically altered seeds I do not have clue for the others.
Did you try googling them up? High Yield Crops has two meanings. It is crops that produce a greater ratio of food for input. It can also mean production per land used. A tree is a very high ratio! One seed can make a tree that makes crops for a long, long time. But it is not a high land use ratio because a tree takes a lot of space and usually produces only once per year. So it depends on the context.
I tried googling but had trouble with those.
Well, Tubewells seems pretty literal. It is a tube that is a well. Half way down this page is a pic of a few basic types: http://users.physics.harvard.edu/~wilson/arsenic/conferences/Feroze_Ahmed/Sec_2.htm
i found the others but rationale. thanks
The trick is to add the words "definition" and "of" before it. =) http://lmgtfy.com/?q=definition+of+Rationale
thank you
If you look at it, the rational is the reasons behind. So if I were to say, "My rational in doing this is..." I would be explaining why I did something.
np. Have fun!
