If Z is the midpoint of RT , what are x, RZ, and RT?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = 13, RZ = 48, and RT = 24 x = 11, RZ = 16, and RT = 32 x = 13, RZ = 24, and RT = 48 x = 15, RZ = 24, and RT = 48

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

if Z is the midpoint of RT..... does that mean RZ is longer than ZT ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk . Thats why i posted the question i dont know the answer .

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... what do you think? does RZ look longer or shorter than ZT segment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No its in the middle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Z is in the middle so how can any side be longer

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

right.... so both sides are equal, notice that RZ is 4x-28 long and ZT is 24 long since RZ = ZT we could also say that 4x - 28 = 24 if you solve for "x", that'd show what "x"
