Caty has a job at a local library. She earns $7.25 an hour. She worked 20 hours last week, and she earns an extra $10.00 per week if she is on time every day. Caty also earns a bonus of 15% of her hourly daily pay if she sweeps the floor every night. How much did Caty earn for the past week of work if she was on time every day and swept the floor every night?

Can you show the work tooo so i know where i went wrong?

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

Soo..first let's do the math without the extra stuff. $7.25 times 20 is $145 So that's what we start with. So she earns ANOTHER 10 dollars because, according to the info we got, she was on time everyday. So now we have $155. So far so good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ok THIS IS WHAT I NEED . Soo after that work we mutliply? ?

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

(still kinda figuring this out so maybe get someone else to proofread but) I think so. "Of" in math, means multiply. So I think we want to multiply .15 by 7.25

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

Actually that's incorrect, you want to multiply 7.25 by 1.15

OpenStudy (lifeisadangerousgame):

So now, we have $8.3375. Now we start over. We multiply $8.3375 by 20 to get $166.75. Add 10 dollars to that, we have $176.75. I believe this is how you do it and this is the correct answer, but someone probably should check.
