29 = 17.1 w ^(3/8) First divide both sides by 17.1, you get 29/17.1 = w^(3/8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now, to get rid of the (3/8) in the exponent, raise both sides of the equation to the reciprocal, 8/3, so that w^(3.8) raised to the (8/3) is just w.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you have w = (29/17.1)^(8/3)

Use your calculator, and you get 4.090141819

Done.

I keep getting a different answer when I use my calculator..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe you're putting it in wrong, put it in step by step. Don't put the whole thing in right away. So divide then put ^8/3

I did but I keep getting something else @iambatman
