In chemistry lab, Laura needs to make a 50 mL solution that is 12% HCl. However, all she has available are 5% HCl and 20% HCl solutions. How many milliliters of the 20% solution should she use to obtain the desired mix of the 5% and 20% solutions? Round your answer to the nearest integer value.

x = mL of 5% solution ... y = mL of 20% solution x + y = 50 0.05x + 0.2y = .12(50) Solve that system and you're good to go
