OpenStudy (slicknik):

Solve the system. Use the Substitution Method and show all your work. Problem: 4x-5y=27 y=2x+3

OpenStudy (slicknik):

i wasn't able to learn how to do substitution, because i was sick at home. Please help!

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you plug in/substitute the value of y into the first equation so 4x - 5(2x+3) = 27 then you can solve for x and once you get x, plug it back into the second equation to get y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just plug 2x+3 into y in the equation 4x-5y=27 and then solve for x
