One day during flu season, 1/3 of the students in a class were out sick, and only 24 students were left. How many students are in the class.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one third were out, two thirds remained so the question is, two thirds of what number is 24 translate in to math, we get \[\frac{2}{3}x=24\] solve for \(x\) via \[x=24\times \frac{3}{2}\]

Thanks. (:
