tricky question: 2^8 + 2^8 = 2(2^8) = 2^9 So, you have 2^9 + 2^9 = 2(2^9) = 2^10 2^10 + 2^ -4

Other question, 7x(x^-9) = 7x^(-8) 6x^(-8) + 7x^(-8)= 13x^(-8) or can be written as 7/x^8
