The average cost of producing x units of a commodity is given by the equation c(x) = 20.4 - 0.0007x. Find the marginal cost at a production level of 1,255 units. this is an application involving an absolute extremum on a closed interval.

help please.. TT

c(x) = 20.4 - 0.0007x--> is this the right equation? marginal cost means you need to get the derivative of the cost function.. and you need to plug 1,255 in the derived equation. this is what i know but i'm not quite sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats the right equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but we have to solve this using the absolute extremum..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for the help anyway..
