What is the solution set of the inequality? |2x + 3| < 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There's more than one solution. x=-3 x=-2 x=-1 x=0

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

the absolute values will create 2 inequalities: 2x+3<5 and -(2x+3)<5 so then solve for x -3 -3 - 2x-3 <5 2x < 2 +3 +3 /2 /2 -2x < 8 x < 1 /-2 /-2 x > -4 so -4 < x < 1
