what is the vertex of the graph of the function y=|3x+6|+2

OpenStudy (ranga):

|3x + 6| will always be >= 0. The lowest value it can have is 0. Set 3x + 6 = 0 and solve for x. Put that value of x in y = |3x + 6| + 2 to get the y value. That will give you the coordinates of the vertex.
