You have to start with the parent function: y= l x l And the parent points: (0,0) (1,1) (-1,1) (2,2) (-2,2) Now mutiply every x-value by 1/3: (The negative recipricol of 3) (0*1/3, 0) (1*1/3, 1) (-1*1/3, 1) (2*1/3, 2) (-2*1/3,2) Now move every x-value *UP* 5 units: [(0*1/3) +5 , 0] [(1*1/3) +5, 1] [(-1*1/3) +5 , 1] [(2*1/3) +5 , 2] [(-2*1/3) +5 ,2] Tah duh! :)
