If a snowball melts so that its surface area decreases at a rate of 5 cm2/min, find the rate at which the diameter decreases when the diameter is 12 cm.

I keep getting -5/24pi but it says its wrong

OpenStudy (radar):

Surface area of a snowball is SA=Pi*D^2 is the equation you used?

OpenStudy (radar):

Maybe since it asks for the decrease using a negative answer is suggesting an increase....just sayin...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow u were right thanks!

OpenStudy (radar):

Glad to help, sometimes it is difficult to understand what they are asking....that is the fun of it. Good luck with related rates (I never had too much luck with them lol).
