There will be six stations,which include:orienteering,arts and crafts,teambuildin,sports,canoeing and Eco games. These stations will need to be set up around the camp property. Your job is to plan where the stations will be and make a map of the outdoor education center that the sixth grade students can follow.
Things to consider when placing stations:
Appropriate setting for the station (is this a good spot for this station)
The travel distance and proximity between stations (is this station too far or too close
Canoeing and sports must both have a y-coordinate of 8
Arts and crafts is located 20 units away from the barn and located directly south of it
Eco-games and orienteering must both have a y- coordinate of -6
Team building must be located 14 units away from canoeing,and have the same x-coordinate

In addition to the stations,there is dining hall,girls cabin,boys cabin,barn and bathroom. The entrance to each of these amenities are located at the following coordinates:
Dining hall (12,-6)
Girls cabin (-14,-10)
Boys cabin (-14,6)
Barn (10,12)
Bathrooms (12,0)
Campfire (0,0)

First prepare a grid, using the x and y coordinate system. It must be large enough and contain all of the given coordinates. Note it must contain all 4 quadrants + and - X and + and - y.

Next locate all points and label that has been given by the problem such as the dining hall, girls cabin, boys cabin, Barn, Bathrooms and Campfire.

next follow the instructions to locate the stations. For example, the Arts and Craft station is to be located 20 units south of the barn. Well the barn is located at point (10,12) The Arts and Craft Station then must be located at (10,-8) That would be 20 units south of the barn. The instructions are there, your daughter only needs to read and comphrehend. She may run into problems, please have them posted here as she does her work.
