Can someone explain Recombination frequency? What is the formula?
Frequency of recombination is measured during specially prepared crosses where recombinant offspring can be identified particularly as phenotypically different from either of the two parents.
and ill look for the formula for you
Thanks, I can never figure out these percentage outcomes
total number of recombinants (non-parentals) divided by total number of progeny.
what is the equation?
and no problem ! (:
The frequency of carriers of this disease is 0.02 in a particular population. Consider many couples like 6 and 7 where one parent is affected and the other is unaffected. On average, what is the chance that the first child of these couples will be affected? Please give a number between 0.0 and 1.0. Please use only one significant digit.
I must have skipped a lecture by accident
lol i wish i could help but i actually learned this last year in ap bio and i forgot how to do this i just googled the answers on the website i used last year :/
so, i would divide the percentage of the outcome of the effect (.02) by the number of offspring?
i believe so (:
Wow, and i was thinking i was skrewed. Haha thanks!
lol anytime !! (:
hmm, wait wouldn't it be 50% if you do it on a pedigree chart
THATS WHAT ITS CALLED!! yeah thats how i calculated mine so thats probably true
argh but that contradicts what the formula says. I'll go with .02% for now. I'll tell you if i get the question right or not
alrighty hopefully you do ! :/ i hated that topic last year
Tell me about it XD
nope, i think it was 50 %
lol just got with 50% it sounds more accurate
I went with .02%
and got i wrong *facpalm*
lolwas it fifty?
I doesn't say what the correct answer is. I'm taking intro to bio mitx what are you taking?
oh what grade are you in ? and now im taking ap environmental science
