What are the factors of x2 − 7x − 30? (x − 10)(x + 3) (x + 10)(x − 3) (x + 15)(x − 2) (x − 15)(x + 2)

@jigglypuff314

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

numbers that multiply to 30 and add up to -7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm stuck on this one :/

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

x^2 − 7x − 30 it's just like the previous ones ^ ^ so should multiply to -30 and add to -7 can't be (x + 15)(x − 2) because ^ ^ 15+(-2) does not equal -7

C!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or D.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

no... I just explained why... 15+(-2) does not equal -7 (x − 10)(x + 3) ^ ^ -10+3 = :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My bad haha. I'm not so good in math.

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

It's okay, you'll get the hang of it with more practice :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah thanks to you I got way better at it. I really appreciate all the help. :)
