Can someone please help me? Solve each equation by factoring 1. x^2 - 3x = 10 2. x^2 = 6x^2 +16x 3. 3x^3 + 11x^2 = -6x 4. 12x^3 - 7x = -1x

OpenStudy (ranga):

First step: Make the right hand side zero by subtracting the right hand side terms from both the left and the right. Then simplify. The first two equations are quadratic. Do you know how to factor a quadratic expression? The third and fourth equations have x as a common factor. So if you factor x out you will once again have quadratic expressions which you can factor.
