Imagine an astronaut in space at the midpoint between two stars of equal mass. If all other objects are infinitely far away, what is the weight of the astronaut? Explain your answer. Step by step?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Weight is the amount of pull (Newtons) exerted "down" on something. In this case, equal forces are pulling in opposite directions, therefore they are annulled. If X were the Newtons that one star pulls, X would also be the Newtons of the other star. However, they are from opposite directions so: X + (-X) = 0
