Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP)is the immediate source of energy. These bonds are easy to break, unlike Adenosine Disphosphate (ATD), which has bonds that are harder to break. As a result, the bonds in ATP are easy to break, and give out much more energy than the energy needed to break the bonds. As a result, they're an easy and influencial source of energy. Sugar is a glucose which is used and stores in the body, and is long-term. Food isn't even relavent.
