For two lines to be parallel then the interior angle made by these lines with a common line which intersects these two lines should be equal

i.e. in this case andle 2 should be equal to angle 6

As angle 2 and angle 5 are supplementary so angle 2 + angle 5 = 180

and as "m" is a straight line so angle 5 + angle 6 = 180
