A chain of mass density p[kg/m] lies in a head on a horizontal floor, with one end attached to a block of mass M. The block is given a sudden kick and instantly acquires a speed V0. Let x be the distance travelled by the block. In terms of x, what is the tension in the chain, just to the right of the heap; that is, at the point where the chain links are picked up from the heap by the moving block. There is no friction in this problem. Any ideas?

do u have a figure the problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will draw and upload. Slight confusing working makes the problem harder.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what heap mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pile, as in the chain piled up
