Look at the figure shown below.
Which step should be used to prove that point A is equidistant from points C and B?
Select one: a. Triangle ABD is congruent to triangle ACD. b. Prove that segment AD is perpendicular to BC. c. Triangle ABD is similar to triangle ACD. d. Prove that segment AD is equal to segment BC.
In here. What you need to prove is that the line AC must be congruent to the line AB. So, among the choices, what do you think will fulfill that fact?
@Edge , any idea?
Don't you wanna try?
Do you think proving the segment AD is equal to segment BC helpful? How about proving that triangle ABD is similar to triangle ACD. Eee proving that segment AD is perpendicular to BC. uhm, proving Triangle ABD is congruent to triangle ACD.?
proving the segment AD is equal to segment BC is not helpful proving that triangle ABD is similar to triangle ACD is also not helpful because what we after is to prove that the hypotenuse of both triangles be equal and not just proportional proving that segment AD is perpendicular to BC is not helpful as well because it will just tell us the the lines formed 90 degrees. Hence the most correct among the choices is the 1st choice since it will probe that AC=AB which is what we needed to prove.
