Which of the following equations is the equation of a suitable line of best fit for the data given below? {(45, 18), (62, 13), (72, 11), (55, 15), (38, 21), (26, 31), (93, 9), (64, 13), (29, 28), (33, 25), (49, 17)} A. y = 3x + 35 B. y = –10x + 35 C. 3/10x -35 D. -3/10x + 35

I'll do it by taking any two random points...........Lets say I take the points (55, 15), (38, 21) I'll find the slope passing through these points : (y2-y1)/(x2-x1) = 6/-17 = -6/17 You can clearly see that the slope is negative and less than 1 Which of the equations fit this criterion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can verify this by taking any other two random points as well

OpenStudy (melstutes):

Is it D
