Which of the following is a quantity that could be represented by the number 2*10^-3 A. the diameter (in meters) of an atom B. the time it takes (in minutes) to blink C. the occupancy limit of a pizza restaurant D. the annual salary of a high school math teacher

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think the answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would say D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, the number is very small...10^-3 means 1/1000 or as a decimal .001 So 2 x 10^-3 = 2 x 1/1000 = 2/1000 or .002 That is not the salary for a teacher. .002 is a number a drop bigger than 0, so to say. So whats the correct answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would say B. I think the diameter of an atom is way smaller than 2/1000 of a metr. If I am correct, the diameter of an atom is about a million times smaller than the thickest piece of hair on your head. So I would say, B.

okay thank you(:

welcome.
