Solve for x: 5 − (x + 5) > −2(x + 4) x > −8 x < −8 x > −18 x < −18 @DarkBlueChocobo

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

just solve it as if it were an equation. just remember that every time u multiply by a negative number the inequality sign changes, from < to > and viceversa

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

u do know how to solve an equation, right?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

forget the ">" and imagine it is an equal sign. so u have \[ \large 5-(x+5)>-2(x+4) \] what do u do first?

OpenStudy (nirmalnema):

5 − (x + 5) > −2(x + 4) 5-x-5>-2x-8 -x>-2x-8 2x-x>-8 x>-8
