OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it \[2x^2 = -3x-5\]

OpenStudy (gavin39):

that's the equation @wilfley

OpenStudy (gavin39):

Which of the following is a solution of 2x2 = -3x - 5? x equals the quantity of negative 3 minus 7 i, all over 4 x equals the quantity of 3 plus 7 i, all over 4 x equals the quantity of 3 minus i square root 31, all over 4 x equals the quantity of negative 3 plus i square root 31, all over 4

I'm pretty sure you're going to have to use the quadratic equation. Do you know it?

OpenStudy (gavin39):

Not at all

OpenStudy (gavin39):

If I did I pro wouldn't be asking the question lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x=\frac{ -b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} }{ 2a }\] move everything over to the left side of the equation. The coefficient of the x^2 term is your 'a', the coefficient of the x term is your b and the constant is the c.
