what role does a senator play in the law making process?

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

He can say yay or nay to it

OpenStudy (nurali):

A United States senator plays an important role in the law making process. A senator can introduce a bill or law to congress. The senator votes on whether to pass or veto a law. The Senate and House of Representatives can even override a Presidential veto if a two-thirds majority of both houses of Congress vote to approve the law or bill.
