Yo, can someone help me out? Raj and Gabrielle drove to an amusement park that is 97 miles away. Their average speed was 63 miles per hour. How long was the total travel time to the nearest tenth of an hour?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 1.5?.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Distance = Rate x Time You know the distance = 97 and the speed (rate) = 63 So substitute and solve for time, T.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I Divided 97 and 63, because the answers that are given to me is 1. 1.3 2. 1.5 3. 3.1 4. 3.7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, 1.5

Harlon spent $42.96 on short-sleeve and long-sleeve T-shirts. The long-sleeve T-shirts cost $12.99 each. If he bought two of each type of shirt, what was the price of each short-sleeve T-shirt? ^ I couldn't figure out this answer :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

He bought 2 long sleeve shirts so it will be 2 x $12.99 = $25.98. Now subtract $25.98 from the total: $42.96 - $25.98 = $16.98. Divide $16.98 by 2 to find the price of 1 short sleeve shirt. So it'll be: $8. 49 for one short sleeved.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

$8.49 for one short sleeve? or for each, because it's asking for each. I appreciate you explaining it, because it totally makes sense

@tn.x680

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it's $8.49 for each short sleeve, because we divided $16.98 by 2.

Thanks :,) @tn.x680

You're welcome :)
