how would you define a contradiction in geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In it's simplest form, in mathematics a contradiction is a statement that goes against an assumption. For example: If I say: assume x is negative. Then, if I say x*5 = 25, that is a contradiction since I assumed x was negative.
