How would I solve |3x-4|=-12?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

keep in mind that absolute values represent distance so for example |-3| = 3 since this basically says "the number -3 is 3 units away from 0"

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so it's impossible for an absolute value function to produce a negative result something like |x| = -3 is impossible because distances from zero (along the number line) aren't negative

Thanks! :D
