How to find the slope when you only know 2 points?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only know two points? Thats all you need to find the slope ...is 2 points. Slope = change in y-values/change in x-values

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

Oh yeah there's a formula right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

OpenStudy (fanduekisses):

Haha Thanks so much, I can't believe I forgot this! LOL :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x1 is the first x-coordinate; x2 = second x-coordinate same idea for the y1 and y2...
