If you find the slope then you'll know the answer. The slope equation is y2-y1/x2-x1, and since the line passes through (-5, 0) and (0, -2), you can just plug in these coordinates: -2-0/0--5 -2/0+5 -2/5 So -2/5 is your slope. The equation for a line is y=mx+b where m is the slope, so you look for an answer with -2/5 in the m position. The only possible answer is y=-2/5x-2
