Nine teams are vying for the top 3 places in a softball tournament. How many arrangements of the top 3 teams are possible?

Well.. For first place there could be any one of those 9.. For any one of those first places, the second place could be any of the other teams - so 8 teams. For third place same idea: any other team but first and second places, so 7 teams. 9*8*7 = 504
