The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is [P equals two times l plus two times w] . How many feet wide is the playing area? Don't forget to convert the length from yards to feet. (There are 3 feet in 1 yard.) Solution: There are two ways to solve this problem. You can solve the formula for the unknown variable, then substitute.
