Looking for students to trade questions with is cheating.  When Connections comes to OpenStudy and investigates reports of cheating, logs of any interactions like these can be turned over to the school.  That can result in an investigation on the schools side that can be very embarrassing and problematic for the student.  As such, it is best not to do these things.

Oh, and "deleting" replies, editing questions, PMs, etc. does not hide anything.  OpenStudy still has copies of all those translations, so any investigation can uncover all abuses.  This makes it a very good idea for students to only use OpenStudy to learn, not cheat, trade answers, and so on.

Yes.  We go through backlogs of stuff as well.

We get roughly 200 reports and actions per day for a very small number of moderators.  Also, there are all the things we see first hand.  So there is not time to deal with every issue at the moment it is reported when say there is someone swearing like mad in the chats and making dozens of accounts to do so.  At times, we get a chance to deal with some of those older issues.
