what is cos^-1(1)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

That is better.

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Find out where cos = 1 and that is your answer.

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

If you don't know where that is, use the unit circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really do not know how to use the unit circle. I am suppose to do this without a calculator.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Nope, my bad.................

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Look up information about the unit circle and how to read it. In short, the x coordinate of the points on the unit circle correspond to the cos value of that point.

OpenStudy (cgreenwade2000):

Example, at pi : we get the point (-1,0) which means cos(pi) = -1
