what is the definition of "coming of age" ? what does it mean to you ? I have my opinion for coming of age: experience to more responsibility, but it doesn't feel right so I want to hear yours

My opinion- Coming of age is when (Like you said) You're getting more responsibility, getting more mature and starting to have to take responsibility for your own life, getting ready and closer to becoming an adult. That's the way I look at it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"coming of age" is usually a time of growth and understanding... it is often looked at as transition from childhood to adulthood... where you no longer look at the world with that innocence, and start to realize there is more to life than 'happiness and play'. "putting aside childish things' and looking for realistically at the world
