troy worked for 3 hours and 15 minutes. how should he write that on his time card

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

It depends on how he should write it. Whether he should write it as a fraction or a decimal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a decimal

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

First what you need to do is set this up into a fraction, of minutes/minutes in a hour. When you fill this up, you get 15/60 (because 1hour=60 minutes). Now you have to simplify and you will get 1/4 becuase that's the result when you divide the numerator and the denominator by 15. This should be simple becuase we should know what 1/4 stands for as in a decimal. So what does 1/4 equal to in decimal wise?
