Sometimes my open questions disappear, don't know why.

Anything that is seen as spam or trying to game the system by getting medals for a non-question is generally closed. There are some exceptions. Feedback has been used for happy birthday and congratulations things. $\LaTeX$ Practicing has many practice topics, tutorials, and my smile post. Subjects like Psychology and Art lend themselves to discussions on certain issues. But most subjects are more a question and answer format.
