is 1/x a periodic function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(x)= \frac{ 1 }{ x }\] This is a rational (reciprocal) function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it asks if it is a periodic, i am little confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Periodic will mean that the function repeats itself in values for a certain cycle of values of x. For example, sin x is periodic because every 360 degrees or 2pi radians, there's a new curve. There are NO cycles to the curve y = 1/x. Look at its graph.

ok thanks!
