-2/3+y=-6/7

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

there are two ways to do this....with fractions or without fractions... with fractions... -2/3 + y = -6/7 (add 2/3 to each side) y = -6/7 + 2/3 (common denominator is 21) y = - 18/21 + 14/21 y = - 4/21 without fractions... -2/3 + y = -6/7 (to get rid of fractions multiply the equation by the LCD which is 21) -14 + 21y = -18 (add 14 to both sides) 21y = -18 + 14 21y = -4 (divide by 21) y = -4/21 either way will get you the same answer
