On this triangle.. What is the length of the shortest side if the perimeter is equal to 60 feet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it a right triangle ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no.. one side is 2x+8, another is 3x-2 and the bottom is 5x+4.. i cant insert it in..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to find x.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it equilateral ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes its an equalateral triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That does help a lot.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All the lenghts are the same.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is 60=2x+8+3x-2+5x+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so do I add all the xs?

hartnn (hartnn):

the info of equilateral triangle was not required........but when its given, the notion of shortest side does not exist, all sides are equal then
